The birth pangs of a new era

Michele Sist

I believe that in this period - which will be remembered in history as the "beginning" of an epochal change - many people need, first of all, to calm the agitation and anxiety that overwhelms them in order to then understand, with a clear mind, what is really happening and what these strange times we are witnessing represent.

: Those who have been on the path of self-investigation for some time now know what I am talking about and in fact, more than ever, these days are "testing their determination", like when students have exams at the end of the year. But let's get to the point. Imagine that all this creation or "great game of God" is divided on the temporal plane into four great eras that recur periodically and that the manifestation, cyclically passing through each single era, finds itself on the spatial plane at a certain distance from a "nucleus", which we could define as "central and primordial"; in this framework, the manifestation or "manifest world" will find itself living cyclically in four different spatial "zones", since each is located at a different distance from this central and primordial nucleus and hence the difference: when we find ourselves living in the era in which the manifestation is found in the part furthest from the nucleus, we find ourselves in a period in which the human being forgets his true nature, his divine origin and the meaning of his existence; vice versa, when the manifestation is in the closest “zone”, man is aware of himself, that is, he is aware of being “the absolute temporarily limited in a small physical form”, and he is aware of being one with everything that exists. In the middle of these two opposites, then, are the other two eras that we could define more or less “intermediate”. Now, when creation finds itself “transiting” from one era to another, it must pass through an area that we could define as “border”.

Imagine electric motors working in sequence; the first motor starts, then turns off to let the second one start and so on; but note that when a motor turns off because it has finished its work, it continues to turn "by inertia" for a certain period, before it can stop completely, and this is normal, because it must exhaust all the energy it had accumulated. In this sense, we could define the period of inertia as the "phase of passage of work" from one motor to another, or see it metaphorically - in our specific case - as the phase of passage from one era to another: from the most distant and dark era that we have lived for millennia and up to today, to another that is about to arrive and that will be completely different, because "bright", since much closer to the fateful nucleus or primordial center. So, this is what is happening. And today we are living witnesses of one of the greatest changes that we have ever seen in the history of humanity. This change, however, being "radical", will completely call into question our lives, our way of living, our way of seeing, our way of perceiving things and our beliefs; with the events of these weeks, we can clearly see how our souls are already in turmoil, and in the future they will be even more so because time is accelerating and change requires that men, little by little, let go of their armor, the barriers that they had erected at first to protect themselves from a world that they perceived as hostile and divided: a world where our neighbor was not seen as one of the "many guardians" of that same divine principle that animates us, but rather represented a danger, a continuous threat to our existence according to the ancient saying "homo homini lupus".

The truth is that never before have "unheard of battles" between opposing forces been taking place on different levels, both subtle and coarse; between forces of "resistance" that seek to continue to perpetuate the great imbalance typical of the era we are about to leave, and forces of "change" that instead have the task of ferrying the manifestation into a new phase that has as its objective the birth of a new world based on balance, love and above all on awareness. In fact, we could define this historical period as "the last waltz of the tyrants", and this is why the latter are in a hurry to carry out certain reforms and to close unfortunate projects that they had already planned for decades: they know perfectly well what is about to happen and for this reason they are in a hurry to "close the net" to trap the greatest number of people possible in unawareness. But they will not succeed except for a small number of individuals who in any case would not have tolerated "the light" of this total change. For this reason we must be confident and be ready and prepared, because if we let ourselves be overwhelmed and fearful by the forces that row against change, we will have lost the greatest opportunity ever to transform our consciences.

“In times to come ,” my Master used to say , “Divinity will arise in everyone, and many people throughout the world will preach the truth that all are One. Those who fail to understand this truth will perish, just as plants die when the seasons change, but those who follow the path of dharma (that is, righteousness) will be protected by dharma.”

And then again: “There will come a time when there will be only one religion in the whole world: the religion of love . People will be fed up with pettiness, selfishness, greed and hatred and will put an end to all of it. They will wake up to the needs of the world and become altruistic because the future will leave them no choice. There will be no room, opportunity or occasion for the selfish in the future, for they will perish as a result of their own actions without anyone else’s intervention. If they do not adapt to the future, they will have to go, just as trees perish when the season changes, according to the law of evolution. Evolution is the only way. The future is for the Divine, not for the merely human. If you do not rise to become divine, you will not be fit for the future .” And finally he concluded: “The world must undergo a sudden change of great magnitude. These are the pains that must be endured, the birth pangs, to give birth to the New Age. It will happen. No one can stop it or avoid it, because there is no choice, it is part of the plan. If you follow the plan you will experience happiness; if you resist you will experience suffering.”

It is quite impressive to see, if one has eyes to see it, how mystics and prophets from the most varied mystical or religious currents in the world and who lived in different eras, have all met right here, in our day; and we - yes, we - are here, while we live in a time in which everything is rapidly falling and for which we must admit, as witnesses, that we really did not expect it: but had not Jesus also warned us, when on the Mount of Olives, turning to his disciples he said to them: "Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming"? (Mt 24, 42-51)

Because “the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night…” wrote St. Paul in the First Letter to the Thessalonians: “Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need for me to write to you, for you yourselves know that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. For when they are saying, ‘Peace and safety,’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and no one will escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that that day should overtake you like a thief. For you are all children of light and children of the day; we are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober” (5:1-11).

Think for a moment about these words, “when will Peace and security be said”: don’t you feel like you’ve heard this phrase many times lately? Isn’t “Peace and security” the most used “slogan” nowadays by all the rulers (and potentates) of the world, who use it to introduce laws that increasingly aim at controlling and restricting individual freedoms, especially in the name of a much vaunted “security”? Many have already noticed this, but unfortunately many have not yet. And the latter will suffer a rude awakening in the years to come. It will be as inevitable as it is necessary. But once again it is the voice of the Masters that comes to our aid, urging us not to be afraid; they in fact push us to let go of everything that is no longer in harmony with the purity of the "new world": selfishness, hatred, abuse, greed, vainglory will have to give way to principles based on love, brotherhood and solidarity and in this context the human being will have to recognize that the principle we call God is the one and the same principle that lives in the heart of every creature. Let us therefore prepare ourselves and remain confident because despite the tribulations that will occur in these years, a bright future awaits us. If we can abandon ourselves completely to God saying: "Father... your will be done" , we will feel that we no longer have anything to fear; because our body will be His sword and scalpel, the fire that incinerates and warms, the hand that grasps and caresses, the scream that tightens the throat and the voice of the mother that reassures. May Your Kingdom come, Father, and make us instruments capable of honoring you every day.
