Why Cultural Cannibals?

Rocco Fontana

A clear vision accompanies us (or chases us): everything in the Universe is food or feeds on something else.

A choral action of mutual maintenance unites all the Worlds , creatures , energies , substances in a generous Cosmic banquet .

This vision can be enlightenment , or it can be just brain gymnastics. It depends on what you do with it.

Here we make books and write about books .

We strongly support the idea that Knowledge , over the centuries, has been and is, also, an example of "mutual maintenance" .

Here we deal with different topics, we write about spirituality , culture , alchemy , art , science ... about God ; therefore about the development of Man .

We also sell books here.

Cultural Cannibals Blog is the name we wanted to give to this blog, because it effectively expresses our thoughts .

We want to reveal how every thought is the origin and sustenance of the next, how wise Work is food and inspiration for subsequent Work and discoveries (and metaphysically, we suspect that the opposite is also true ). This, for us, is cultural cannibalism in the best, noblest (and holiest) sense of the term.

They are the books (and consequently their authors) that come out showing that they have incorporated and digested previous texts. Borges argued that, in reality, books only speak of other books and that the reference and the network is a totalizing spiral structure , which inextricably spins together the thread of life and the thread of narrative art. Stories that generate lives that become other stories. Books that speak of heroes that inspire people who become heroes that other books will tell us about.

What was the Primeval Book ?

And now here we are, guests and diners, all around our bubbling pot, mixing ingredients and spices .

Bon appetit!
